When booking a safari tour with Travel & Safari Tours, it’s essential to be well-prepared. Below are key details to help you get ready for your unforgettable adventure:

1. Visa Applications

Namibia Visa Application:
Some Visitors to Namibia must also obtain a visa prior to arrival. The eVisa process is simple and can be completed online.

For the countries, please ensure your passport is valid for at least six months from your entry date and that you have at least two blank pages available.

2. Credit Card Use and Local Payments

While credit cards are widely accepted in major cities, some remote safari lodges and camps may only take cash. We recommend carrying a small amount of local currency (Kenyan Shilling or Tanzanian Shilling) for tips, small purchases, or emergencies. ATMs are available in most towns, but plan ahead when traveling to more isolated areas.

Important Tips:
• Notify your bank about your travel plans to avoid card issues.
• Have a backup payment method, such as a second credit card or cash in USD or EUR.
• Some lodges may charge a small fee for credit card transactions.

3. What to Pack for a Safari

Packing smart can make your safari experience much more comfortable. Here are the essentials:
• Clothing: Lightweight, neutral-colored clothing (long sleeves and pants for evening protection), a warm jacket for early morning game drives, and comfortable walking shoes.
• Accessories: Wide-brim hat, sunglasses, and a scarf or bandana for dust protection.
• Personal Items: Sunscreen, insect repellent, personal medications, and a small first aid kit.
• Gear: Binoculars, a good camera with extra memory cards and batteries, and a small daypack.
• Toiletries: Travel-sized items as many lodges provide basic amenities.
• Electronics: Universal power adapter and portable charger.

4. Luggage Requirements and Bag Recommendations

Due to limited space on safari vehicles and small planes, it’s crucial to pack light and use soft, duffel-style bags. Hard suitcases are generally not recommended.

Luggage Guidelines:
• Limit luggage to 15-20 kg (33-44 lbs), including hand luggage.
• Use soft-sided duffel bags for easy handling and storage.
• Bring a small daypack for essentials during game drives and activities.

By following these guidelines, you’ll be well-prepared for an incredible safari experience. Should you have any questions, feel free to reach out to our team at book@travelsafaritours.com or call us at +27622828237.
