Itinerary

Day 1Arrival Maun fly into the Okavango Delta

On arrival, as you fly over the Delta, you can see the intricate twisting and turning of the waterways and the ever-changing colours where dry land meets Delta. In contrast to the northern Okavango Delta where the waters are fast-flowing and the channels and view is enclosed by high reeds and papyrus, the channels around. Moremi Crossing offer far-reaching vistas of the Moremi’s floodplains, grasslands, and marginal woodlands interspersed with Mokolwane palm islands of the Okavango Delta.

Located near the most southern part of Chief’s Island, Moremi Crossing is situated on a small palm fringed and treed island called Ntsiwi, which is surrounded by the Moremi’s game-rich seasonal floodplains.

Experiences included:

  • Spectacular wilderness area, walking safaris
  • Listening the Delta night chorus
  • Learning how the animals have adapted to water
  • Mokoros [dugout canoes] used in activities on the water

Overnight: Splash, Okavango Delta Camp

Meals included: All Meals. Drinks Included: Water and Soft Drinks

Splash Camp is situated in the heart of the Okavango Delta, within the Kwara Private Reserve. Located around a natural waterhole, which attracts game year round, the camp features 12 spacious ensuite rooms as well as a main area, bar, dining area and swimming pool

Activities Included Today

The mokoro trip is the quintessential delta experience. There is nothing more relaxing than poling along the lagoon and channels with your guide, soaking up the atmosphere and seeing things from a totally different perspective.

Day 2 Moremi Safaris

We enjoy Safaris in the morning and evening in Moremi and Kwaai areas within the Delta. Driving in a four wheel drive vehicle ensures that we will be able to experience the scents of the Okavango as well as the diversity of the habitats that make up the Delta

As Splash in the Kwara Private Reserve, game drives are able to go off-road and continue after sunset, providing guests with significantly better game viewing and photographic opportunities.

In the eveningIt is also possible to do guided walks year round. An area is chosen at the guide’s

discretion and in keeping with safe distances from large herds of elephant and

buffalo. The distance and area for each walk may vary seasonally at the guides’ discretion

Power Boat Excursions

Wind your way through the narrow channels of the delta… Boating is available year-round at Splash due to the camp being situated in a permanent water location.

Day 3Moremi Crossing

Today after a morning activity and breakfast, we will fly on our private plane to the next camp.

Experience & Activities

Become part of the bustling river life along the papyrus clad banks of the Okavango Delta. Explore the wilderness with our game drives, guided bush walks, or sit back and absorb the scenery from a traditional ‘mokoro’ canoe. Another great way to explore the crystal clear channels of the Boro River is by motor-boat. Watch the sunset while drifting along a lagoon and sipping on sundowners.

Game drives will be available only when water levels are low. There will be no game drives when water levels are high as areas of the concession become inaccessible. Mokoros, boat cruises & fishing are also water level dependent.

All the animals that can be seen on a northern Botswana safari can be seen on an Okavango Safari, including predators, buffalo and elephants as well as the largest concentrations of the endangered African Wild Dog. Water adapted species such as Lechwe and Sitatunga can be commonly seen in the Delta. At the lodge you have the option today to embark on mokoro activity, we will go on dugout canoes using Hippo trails inside the delta where the local people will take us closer to wild game.
