Day 1 Arrive in Cape Town

Upon arrival at Cape Town International Airport you will be met  by a member from our african sunsets travel team who will drive you  to Ellerman House. As you drive toward the city, your view  from afar will be Table Mountain, one of the most spiritual  places on earth, with its heart, two oceans and the beautiful  city of Cape Town at its feet.

Accommodation: Ellerman House, Bantry Bay

Meals Included: None

About Ellerman House

Ellerman House is the quintessential urban retreat for  discerning luxury travellers wanting complete exclusivity and  privacy in Cape Town. Located in Bantry Bay, it offers  spectacular Atlantic Ocean views against the dramatic  backdrop of Lion’s Head. Clifton’s beaches are within walking  distance, while the best local attractions are 10 minutes by car.

Originally a private residence, the historic Cape Edwardian style mansion has 13 rooms and suites, two ultra-modern villas,  the tranquil Ellerman House Spa, and terraced, indigenous  gardens. The Ellerman House Wine Gallery, a cellar for the  hotel’s 7500-bottle collection of South African vintage wines,  offers an interactive, experiential journey into the world of  wine. Enhancing the entire property is the owner’s extensive  collection of original South African art.

The villas are the ultimate home away from home  accommodating from two to ten people. Ideal for groups of  friends and families, they offer exquisite views of the  shimmering ocean. Enjoy an exclusive private chef and  hospitality team to cater to your every desire.

Modern cuisine that reflects the best of local and seasonal  flavours, excellent wine pairings, generous-hearted hospitality  and tailor-made excursions add up to a world-class guest  experience that remains authentically South African.

WHAT WE LOVE ABOUT ELLERMAN HOUSE

∙ Treat yourself to a soothing spa treatment – we love  the Signature QMS facial and any of the massages on  offer

∙ The Ellerman House Wine Gallery offers guests an  experiential journey into the history and provenance  of South African wine through an interactive multimedia wine library, individual maturation cellars for  white and red wines, and a brandy tasting lounge

∙ Wander among one of South Africa’s most important  private art collections – everything from Master’s  works to contemporary young South African artists

Recommended activities (at additional cost):

Full day Table Mountain and City Tour

Table Mountain Cable Car (included)

About the Experience:

The Castle of Good Hope, which was built between 1666 and 1679 by the Dutch East India  Company (VOC). The Castle was developed as a maritime replenishment station, and from 1678 it was the centre of civilian, administrative and military life at the Cape. Today, the Castle is the seat of the military in the Cape, and is open for visitors to explore and learn more about its history. (15min)

For those who enjoy a sense of history, the South African Museum offers a look at life throughout the ages in South Africa. The museum is situated in the Company Gardens, which holds the Seat of Parliament. Pristine lawns, shady paths, ornate fish ponds, statues of past leaders and plenty of curious squirrels are just a part of the Company Gardens’ charm. (20mins). The Slave Lodge and District 6 are prominent museums that highlight the history of South Africa through Apartheid (15min)

Tucked under the slopes of Signal Hill, the Bo Kaap is a fascinating and vibrant area that was somehow bypassed in the forced removal policies of the Apartheid. Also called the Malay Quarter, this area is characterised by its multi-coloured cottages and steep cobbled streets as well as its exotic Malay culture. (15min)

Table Mountain is the highlight of the trip, we will take the cable car up and spend 2 hours enjoying the views of the whole peninsula (2hours)

Cape Point Tour Half Day

About the Experience

The peninsula falls within the Table Mountain National Park which is world-renowned for its incredible biodiversity. The Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve spreads out over the rocky headland. It’s a protected nature reserve and home to an array of antelope, the rare Cape mountain zebra and other unique animal species. It’s also a haven for marine birds, with 250 recorded bird species found in the reserve. Cape Point is the very pointy end of the Cape Peninsula. It’s an instantly-recognised landmark and is often mistaken to be the southernmost tip of Africa. There are two national heritage monuments on Cape Point that were built to honour the world’s most famous explorers: Vasco da Gama and Bartolomeu Dias (who was the first European explorer to round Cape Point in 1488).

Day 3Private Woodstock Art, Culture and History Tour

Private Woodstock Art, Culture and History Tour

Come Explore Cape Town: Our Mission

At African Sunsets Travel Art Tours, we believe in connecting visitors and locals through responsible tourism. We understand the importance of giving people a platform to share their ideas through our community projects. We immerse various communities into our love for art, sport, history and culture. We use a creative platform to educate the community creating home gardens or painting murals and help them find their passions. By going on a African Sunsets Travel Art Tour, you not only learn about the awe-inspiring neighbourhoods you roam, but you are helping support and uplift a local community. Each mural you see has brought the community together in some aspect. Whether it be the connection created from the art’s meaning or just the simple enjoyment of its beauty, African Sunsets Travel Art Tours is unlike any other tour company. You will find a piece of home in every person you meet, every piece of culture and history you experience and every piece of art you encounter.
