You may have heard the worst about Zimbabwe but it is Africa’s most ‘hidden-gem’ holiday destination. Zimbabwe may have got some pretty bad press over the past few years but ask anyone who visited this country, they will tell you that in spite of the political hardships, Zimbabwean people are extremely friendly, the prices are very reasonable, and five UNESCO World Heritage Sites are found here in this beautiful country.

The most popular of these is obviously Victoria Falls. It is the adrenaline capital of Africa, because it offers a number of thrilling activities, such as white-water rafting, bungee jumping, croc-cage diving and helicopter flights over the mighty Falls. “Mos Oa Tunya-The Smoke that thunders” is an amazing site to visit all year round, though dry and rain seasons are different I assure you that they are equally awe inspiring experiences.

Following the Zambezi River downstream from Victoria Falls, you will come upon yet another World Heritage Site, the Mana Pools, formed by the changing currents of Zambezi over a long period of time, these pools are massive and now attract flocks of wildlife in dry seasons. On the other hand, one of the best game-viewing experiences on the continent is here in Zimbabwe’s Hwange National Park, home to over 400 species of birdlife, and one of the largest elephant herds in Africa.
